Learning4Resilience - Aufbau lokaler Lernzentren zur Katastrophenschutzbildung

Learning4Resilience aims to develop engaging information and learning resources on disaster preparedness at the local level, with a view to strengthening adults’ ability to cope with crises and disasters. The project not only builds knowledge but also empowers people to support themselves and others in emergency situations.

A key focus is on improving the skills of trainers, who act as multipliers, as well as on raising awareness among stakeholders from the fields of education, science, business and civil society. These stakeholders are made aware of the importance of disaster management skills – both for a resilient local community and for their own role and opportunities to get involved.

At the same time, stakeholders from politics and public administration are mobilised to support resilience-building in their local communities and to create favourable framework conditions.

The result is a sustainable model for disaster risk reduction education tailored to specific target groups, which combines skills acquisition with participation and civic engagement. It comprises:

  • A body of knowledge;
  • learning opportunities tailored to the specific needs of different population groups (e.g. in terms of learning venues, environments and formats);
  • training to qualify resilience trainers;
  • community-based learning centres with innovative learning spaces;
  • strategies for capacity building and the internationalisation of educational providers;
  • Recommendations to policymakers and public authorities on how to create a supportive policy framework.

In this way, the project contributes to a more resilient and better-prepared society.
